Olive

Olive is a lovely young pony who has been spending increasing time with Tilly and could potentially be rehomed as a pair. She leads well and does lift her feet although will lift her feet to kick out at times so will need further handling.
She is a real character who enjoys playing and being groomed. She is very protective of food and will show aggression if she feels like her dinner is threatened.

Emily & Elijah

Both donkeys will need a home together with someone experienced with horses, donkeys, or both. The home must be patient and willing to continue their training after leaving the sanctuary.

Limited grazing will be needed - ideally a track system if possible to encourage movement, helping with the loss of the additional weight that they carry.

Emily (lighter mare) has a more subdued temperament, only concerned whenever she cannot reach Elijah, unhappy when she can see but not reach him. She is a polite donkey who would be content with or without human attention.

Elijah (darker gelding) is a very curious Donkey. He will meddle with anything new in his environment. Very mentally active and quick to learn forms of enrichment would be very beneficial.

Both leading well-using body language and vocal cues - ‘walk-on’ and ‘Woah’. Very responsive and getting more so with each session.

Whoever was to rehome them would be expected to continue their training and handling.

Jodie and Sanza

Jodie was paired up with Sanza and like everything else Jodie does, she took it all in her stride. She is not sound for riding but could lead a small child around. Jodie has a dust allergy and has a sensitive stomach with food changes. Ideally, she needs to live out with an open shelter.

Jodie adores a little fuss and attention and is always on the lookout for her next 'buddy'.

Sanza doesn't mix well with other horses but gets along with Jodie thanks to the older mares' mellow temperament. She does love attention and fuss though and enjoys grooming. Like Jodie, she isn't sound but could be used for setting a small child on her back.

Both mares must be rehomed together and must go to a five star home.

They would be perfect as a pair of 'field ornaments' for the grandchildren to fuss around. :)

Tilly

Tilly enjoys spending time with Olive so the pair would be happy to be rehomed as a pair! Tilly arrived with us when her owner surrendered her, unable to meet her needs any longer and hoping to give her the best chance in life. She is approximately 10-12 years old and is quite a trouble maker. She loves to explore, to escape, and to play.

She will follow you everywhere given the chance; unless you've left a gate open of course. Open gates are like neon signs for free carrots to our Tilly - she's a moth to the flame. If she's loose on the yard you have to be very careful not to leave any gates ajar or she will be right in.

She is a little picky with her friends but time usually is all she needs. Right now she is besotted with our older shetland NikNak and is often found wherever the elder happens to be.

She has fear of being enclosed, we aren't sure of the trigger, but if she is found to be enclosed in a stable she will do whatever she can to escape the confinement to the point of injury. If there is a fence she can limbo she will, if there is a gate ajar she will aid its opening.

She is such a trouble maker - but we love her to bits! She has a habit of stopping in a spot when you are trying to move a wheelbarrow, the quad or jeep and she will not move for anything. She just stands and looks at you until you physically move her out of the way.

Tilly has had laminitis in the past so we are very careful about her feeding; and her turnout on the grass.

We would love to find her a home where she can have some people of her own to spoil her.

George & Terrance

George and Terrance are two nervous boys who were part of our Fairhill rescue. They've come along so well since arriving, but they are still very nervous and prefer to spend time to themselves.

They know to go to their crate for bed and food and are happy with other cats and dogs.

They need a lot of time to build trust.

Clifford

Clifford / Boots is a lovely boy who was lifted in August as part of our rescue at the Fairhill Shopping Centre in Ballymena. He has come around so much in his time at the sanctuary and this is his second time being advertised due to being removed because of an injury and vet care.

We are pleased to say he's been given the ok from the vet and although he has a limp, we have been informed that activity is the best thing for him to increase strength and mobility.

So now all he needs is a home!

He is a long-haired boy and does require daily brushing to keep him silky smooth; he has become quite fond of his grooming time and will lie and purr contentedly.

He is good with other cats and will often be found on the sofa or in one of the many beds, having a snooze. He isn't really one for games and play, and would prefer a quieter home where he can be pampered and claim all the soft surfaces.

Nancy

Nancy (originally Claire online) was one of the twelve lifted at the Fairhill shopping centre in August/September 2020. She has had two litters of kittens this year alone, whilst not being much more than a baby herself.

She is rather fondly known as "Hissy" due to her hiss of 'unwelcome' to intruders. She has not much sign of ever really knowing love or TLC before coming to the sanctuary and it has taken a lot for her to get as far as she has in building trust with people and confidence. Unfortunately, we just don't have the time to truly dedicate to her with so many currently calling the sanctuary home. She is currently weaning her last litter and then she will be going to get spayed.

We will always have a home here for her at the sanctuary and she does get time spent with her and we will get time to work with her one on one in the future, but if there was a home out there with a special person who would be willing to work with her and to show her humans aren't all bad we would be delighted to hear from you.

She knows her crate now well and although she has the run of the office and reception during the day will go into her crate at night for bed and dinner.

Can you offer a place for Nancy when she is ready and help her learn to trust again?
This place can be temporary or permanent! We just want her to have the best chance.

Joy & Joe

Could you give your home to a mother and son who deserve a chance?

Joe is a lovely 4-month-old kitten, full of fun and adventure and always ready for play. His mother Joy is more reserved, shy, and anxious with new people.

We are more and more concerned about how Joy will cope without her boy. She is happier and less anxious when he’s around and although she still spends the majority of her time watching from a safe spot we honestly believe that with a little bit of care and the home environment can do wonders.

So we are making a plea for a home where Joy and Joe can stay together. They deserve a home together, where Joe can cause chaos while Joy has a quiet spot to watch and nap.

Joy is only a baby herself, but she has had a hard life on the streets; with multiple litters in her past. Joy was straying for over a year when we picked her up. She was a very nervous girl, and soon after arriving had kittens. She was an excellent mother and soon her babies were all off to new homes but one.

Joe was born at the sanctuary; his mother Joy being rescued the month before. He is a lovely boy although has picked up a few nerves from his mother. He is very playful and curious though and loves to explore his space. He would love a home where he can continue to explore and grow.

Tortie

This lovely lady is looking for a home. All her siblings have been rehomed and she is currently sharing with the two remaining siblings from another litter. She is a lazy girl, who enjoys her naps. We imagine given the chance she would take over any sofa's or beds. She has been vaccinated, spayed and is now just waiting for that elusive home to come her way.

She is nervous of new people, but she just needs someone willing to give her a chance. Even half an hour in her company and she will be over to explore your lap. Surely someone could give her a chance?

When you come to meet Tortie or her friends you may not get the chance to interact with her. They are very shy and nervous and due to this, the intrusion of new people into their space can cause them to hide. If you do want to rehome them do consider this when coming to meet them. Their siblings who have already been rehomed were equally as nervous, some even more so, and in the home environment have become happy house cats, and in a number of cases, happy lap cats!

They do need time; so please remember this when visiting them; they deserve a home.

Looking for a Broad of my Own!

There a few young roosters who would benefit from a brood of their own. Could you offer them a forever home?
