French Bulldog X Pug

10 Month Old

Spud is a 10month old Pug X Frenchie searching for a very special home.

He is looking for an adult only experienced home, he is nervous of new people and reactive to dogs so prefers quiet walking areas whilst building on his training.

Spud has had lots of interest in rehoming him - the bulk of these are completely unsuitable so we are re-advertising him and we want people to understand he needs a very special and understanding home to take him on, one ready to work with him and our trainers to ensure the best future.

Spud has issues, and please do not apply unless you are ready to work with these issues and ourselves.
He has separation anxiety.
He is nervous of new people.
He is reactive to dogs.
He cannot be rehomed with children.
He needs a constant routine.
He needs to start most of his training from scratch.
He can be a loyal loving dog but he will need time and work.

What he needs is
A secure garden where he can enjoy off lead playtime and can continue practising his recall.
Someone willing to attend several meets before going to his forever home so potential adopters must be willing to travel to the Cullybackey area where he is currently in foster for this.
Someone around for most of the day.
A home with NO CHILDREN
A home with NO PETS - we will consider other dogs in the home but only after successful meetings with Spud. Again Spud is nervous of other dogs.
Someone who has experience of behavioural issues/training and happy to work with Spud to help him.
Routine, structure and Training.

Even if you can't offer Spud a permanent home could you consider offering him a temporary foster home place? Spud's current foster place is nearly up and he will need to move to the sanctuary if an alternative home isn't found. Spud has never lived in kennels and with his issues it could either be beneficial or completely set him back from the progress he's made.

If you can offer a home for Spud please fill in an application form.

Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications we can receive per dog, we do have to state that we may not be able to contact every unsuccessful home.

If Spud is not suitable for your home perhaps one of our other dogs looking for homes would be - do check them out on our website.

Adoptive homes will only be considered in NORTHERN IRELAND. We are sorry we cannot accommodate further afield but this ensures we can carry out effective home checks and you have a chance to meet the dogs before adoption.

Whilst every care is taken to find the right dog for you, we cannot guarantee behavior, nor can we guarantee that will have a dog suitable for you.

We have a rehoming fee of £70 for dogs. All our dogs are neutered and if not neutered at the time of rehoming will be required to be neutered as soon as permitted by a vet. All adoptions will only take place following meeting the dog at the sanctuary and a home check.

You can fill in this online form which will submit directly to our office. You can also download a form that you can print yourself and either post to the sanctuary Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, 26 Crosskennan Lane, Antrim, BT41 2QY or email to rehoming@crosskennanlane.org.uk.
