A fun, hands-on introduction to ponies for children of all ages — join us for one session or book several!
Join us at Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary for our Pony Pals Summer Sessions — short, age-tailored experiences designed to help children connect with ponies through grooming, games, and gentle hands-on learning. Whether it’s their very first time around ponies or they’re already a little horse-mad, these relaxed sessions are the perfect summer treat!
We provide everything they’ll need — including helmets. Just bring suitable outdoor footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and a sense of adventure.
We’re also happy to accommodate children with additional needs (SEN). If you’re unsure whether a session might be too busy or stimulating, please get in touch — we’re always open to discussing quieter sessions or adjustments to help every child feel welcome.

11:00 AM Single Ticket
Recommended for ages 3–5 A gentle 40-minute introduction to ponies for our youngest visitors. Includes brushing, sensory pony play, simple games, and building confidence around animals in a calm, supported environment. Parents/guardians stay on-site. No riding. Helmets provided.

12:00 PM Single Ticket
Recommended for ages 6–8 A fun 1-hour hands-on session including grooming, learning basic pony care, safe interaction, and pony-themed games and activities. Ideal for first-time pony lovers and curious beginners. Parents/guardians stay on-site. No riding. Helmets provided.

1:20 PM Single Ticket
Recommended for ages 9–12 A 1-hour session focusing on pony handling, stable tasks, grooming, and groundwork games to build skills and confidence. Great for older children who want to learn more about ponies and their care. Parents/guardians stay on-site. No riding. Helmets provided.
