Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - Raise!
At Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint, knowing that protecting the world we live in is part of our aim of helping animals and ensuring they have a home. We are encouraging our supporters to get involved with our RRR-Raise campaign. We can recycle your old Lego, mobile phones, horse tack and rugs, as well as ink cartridges and raise funds for the animals.
We also promote the use of preloved items and when possible we are reducing energy consumption by switching to energy-efficient appliances (when our old appliances reach their end of life), and investing in solar panels and LED lighting. By taking these steps, we can all help reduce our carbon footprint all while reducing costs and raising funds for the sanctuary.
We welcome the donation of unwanted or preloved tack and rugs. It’s a great way to recycle reusable equipment, and all proceeds from our tack sales go towards the care of our rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules – plus you can pick up a bargain too! Here’s what you need to know about donating or buying used tack and rugs.
We can only accept donated tack and rugs if they are:

Clean (rugs must be washed and tumble-dried)

Bagged or boxed
(These conditions do not apply to new and unused items.)
This is to ensure we work to the highest possible biosecurity standards.

Having a clear out? You may have things we can use for fundraising. We can recycle or resell a multitude of household items, including old or broken mobile phones, unwanted Lego bricks, used printer cartridges among others.

Car boot sales are one of those traditional fundraising ideas and one we still employ at the sanctuary. What we need from you is items to sell. A great opportunity for a clear out and a chance to help animals in need.
Please ensure items are of sellable quality and are clean. Broken and dirty items which cannot be repaired or clean can just take up room in storage or add to our dump loads.
