Wellbeing Wednesday – Family Pony Picnic
A relaxed afternoon celebrating wellbeing—for horses and people alike.
Whether you’ve spent the morning at Pony Pals Summer Academy or you’re joining us especially for the afternoon, everyone is welcome. Parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and families of all ages are invited to enjoy a gentle afternoon with our rescued horses, ponies and donkeys.
At Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary we believe wellbeing is about much more than food and shelter. Just like people, horses benefit from opportunities to think, explore, solve problems, move their bodies, make choices and enjoy new experiences.
During this interactive 90-minute picnic you’ll help prepare safe enrichment toys, puzzles and treats before watching our rescued horses investigate, forage, sniff, play and enjoy everything you’ve created.
You’ll discover how enrichment supports natural behaviours, keeps horses mentally stimulated, encourages movement and improves overall welfare.
