Help Crosskennan keep animals in NI safe!

Crosskennan is taking part in the BigGive Christmas Fundraising Challenge for a week at the end of November.

This will offer the opportunity for supporters to double their donations via match funding which would make a big difference!

Key info:

  • Donations will be matched through pledges first then from BigGive champion funders after (if selected)

  • Crosskennan needs to raise at least £1k in pledges (from people or businesses) to be eligible to get the equivalent in match funding from BigGive.

  • It is a great opportunity to raise much needed funds for the sanctuary who are really struggling as donations have significantly decreased.

Crosskennan has made a massive difference to animal welfare in NI, especially being NI’s first educational equine welfare charity (now 1 of 2) but also a sanctuary to dogs, cats and chickens. They have achieved so much over the years including;

  • Leading the campaign to change the much outdated NI Animal Welfare Act to allow intervention before suffering occurs.

  • Campaigning to get increased sentencing for animal welfare offences.

  • Working with over 450 animals in the last year, rescuing and rehoming over 300 animals and providing a home to over 100 animals, and working with and helping around 336 people.

  • Ongoing provision of animal assisted therapy activities to provide mental health benefits to the wider community, including young people, elderly and disabled and helping combat loneliness.
