🚨 We’ve Run Out of Bedding – And We Can’t Afford More 🚨

Urgent Appeal: Help us raise £1,400 to keep our animals clean, dry, and safe

At Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, we care for over 90 animals every day—many of them old, injured, unrideable, or simply unwanted.

We provide not only rescue—but long-term sanctuary. And that means feeding, bedding, and comforting these animals for as long as they need us.

But today, we face a crisis.

❗ What’s Happening Right Now

We are out of shavings.

We are still £1,000 in debt from our last load.

And we need another £400 just to buy one week’s supply to get by.

This means our horses, ponies, and donkeys have no fresh, dry bedding tonight.

No soft space to lie down.

No way to maintain hygiene and comfort.

🐾 You’ve Seen the Video…

  • Lucas, our 26-year-old ex-racehorse, finally able to lie down comfortably

  • Cissy and Nell, safe and warm in the sun beside the radiator

  • Bobby, rolling joyfully in his clean, dry bed after years of neglect

  • William, enjoying another well-earned, overflowing hay net

That comfort? It’s only possible because of you.

And without urgent support, we can’t give them that tomorrow.

🛏️ What You Can Do Tonight

We need your help. Here’s how:

  • £8.40 – Buys 1 bale of shavings (1 horse’s clean bed for 1 week)

  • £336 – Funds 1 week of bedding for the whole herd

  • £1,000 – Clears the outstanding debt for our last delivery

  • £1,400 – Our total urgent goal to stay afloat this week

🟡 You can donate directly or set up a monthly gift:

🟡 You can buy and drop off bales to the sanctuary

(If you’re able to deliver, it helps immensely—we’re short on hands and transport)

🟡 You can share this appeal to help us reach someone who can help

For Those Who Are New Here…

We’re not asking for extras.

We’re asking for basics:

  • Bedding

  • Food

  • Warmth

  • Dignity

We don’t have regular income.

We don’t receive government funding.

We are a small, volunteer-run sanctuary.

We are not thriving—we are surviving.

And today, our animals are going without the most basic comfort: a bed.

💬 Over the Past Year, We’ve Asked:

  • Come to our events

  • Share our posts

  • Help us fundraise

  • Set up regular support—even just £5/month

Many of you have answered, and we are so grateful.

But the reality is: the only thing that’s changed is that costs have gone up.

We’re beyond sugar-coating—we’re in survival mode.

And so are the animals depending on us.
